I’m thrilled to be sending out this newsletter because the first trailer for the film is included in it! Many roads have been traveled, supper clubs visited, amazing owners and patrons interviewed, and old fashioneds consumed to bring you this trailer. This trailer is just a taste of what will be featured in the final piece. The full film will include more stunning footage of a variety of supper clubs around the state, interviews with Wisconsin history and culinary experts, and unique supper club stories. Don't Forget to Tip!
I’m discovering that so many people are excited when they hear that this documentary is being made. They are thrilled that a unique part of Wisconsin culture is being documented and explored. I think it’s vital that we document what makes Wisconsin culture special. I often hear comments about how it must be awesome to have this job and get paid to travel the state visiting supper clubs. While it is true that I love doing this, this project has strictly been a labor of love, not something I get paid for. While I and my volunteer crew have put our own time, blood, sweat, and tears into this project, all of the funding comes from my own pocket and donations. Expenses for this documentary range from buying gas, feeding the crew, equipment needs, lodging and insurance to name a few. It’s been a challenge to balance my time working paying jobs and using that money to cover my personal bills and paying for the documentary. Please consider giving a donation to help us finish filming and have the film ready for its fall 2011 release. Any amount helps!
